At Jimmy’s Athletics, our kids and youth programs are designed to build confidence, coordination, and strength in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.

We offer age-appropriate programs that balance skill development, fitness, and enjoyment — whether your child is new to sports or already active.

Program Breakdown

Ages 7-10: Boxing & Fitness (Play-Based)

  • Focus on movement, coordination, and basic boxing skills

  • More games and interactive drills

  • Emphasis on having fun while building confidence

Ages 11-13: Boxing & Technical Development

  • More structured classes with a focus on technique

  • Introduction to proper form, combinations, and movement

  • Builds discipline, focus, and skill progression

Ages 12+: Strength & Conditioning (Sport-Focused)

  • Strength training fundamentals

  • Sport-specific development for teens

  • Focus on movement quality, coordination, and injury prevention

No max lifts. We prioritize safe technique and proper form at all times.

Teen Girls Self Defense

(Ages 12+)

Mondays Sep 21-Dec 14, 2026 4:15-5:15pm

  • This 12-week program helps teen girls build confidence, awareness, and practical self-defense skills in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Participants will learn basic striking, defensive movement, close-range escape techniques, boundary setting, situational awareness, and strategies for responding to uncomfortable or potentially unsafe situations.

  • Classes include partner drills, pad work, fitness exercises, and age-appropriate scenarios designed to help students stay calm, create distance, use their voice, and respond confidently when needed.

  • No previous martial arts or fitness experience is required.

Teen Girls Strength &

Conditioning (Ages 13+)

Mondays Sep 21-Dec 14, 2026 4:15-5:15pm

  • A supportive training program designed to help teen girls become stronger, more confident, and comfortable in the gym.

  • Participants will learn proper lifting technique, improve coordination, agility, mobility, and core strength, and build healthy exercise habits they can carry into adulthood.

  • Workouts are age-appropriate, coach-guided, and focused on safe progress—not maximum lifting. All fitness levels and athletic backgrounds are welcome.

Teens Strength & Conditioning

(Ages 15+)

Tuesdays Sep 22-Dec 8, 2026 4:15-5:15pm

  • A coach-guided program designed to help teen boys build strength, speed, confidence, and healthy training habits. Participants will learn how to safely use barbells, machines, and other gym equipment while improving lifting technique, core strength, agility, mobility, and overall athletic performance.

  • They will also develop a better understanding of how the body moves, how muscles work, and how to train safely and effectively. Workouts are age-appropriate, challenging, and focused on proper progress—not maximum lifting.

  • ​All sports and experience levels are welcome.

Kids Boxing (Ages 7-9)

Wednesdays Sep 23-Dec 9, 2026 4:15-5:15pm

  • A fun, safe, and coach-guided program designed to keep children active while building confidence, coordination, focus, and discipline.

  • Kids will learn age-appropriate boxing fundamentals, including proper stance, footwork, basic punches, blocking, and defensive movement.

  • Classes include bag work, partner mitt drills, fitness activities, and martial arts games that help children improve balance, body awareness, movement, and control.

  • This is a non-contact program with no sparring, making it a supportive introduction to boxing and practical self-defence skills.

  • No previous experience is required.

Youth Boxing (Ages 12+) ​

Tuesdays Sep 22-Dec 8, 2026 4:15-5:15pm

  • A safe, coach-guided program that introduces youth to boxing fundamentals while building confidence, fitness, discipline, and focus. Participants will learn proper stance, footwork, punches, defensive skills, and combinations through technical drills, heavy bag work, and partner mitt work.

  • This is a non-contact program with no sparring. Classes emphasize proper technique, controlled movement, and steady skill development in a fun, supportive environment. No previous boxing experience is required.

Teen Boys Strength & Conditioning

(Age 13+)

Thursdays Sep 24-Dec 10, 2026 4:15-5:15pm

  • A coach-guided introduction to strength training designed to help teens become stronger, more confident, and more comfortable using their bodies. Participants will learn proper movement patterns, safe lifting technique, and how muscles work together during exercise.

  • Sessions include age-appropriate weight training, core work, agility, mobility, and calisthenics, with a focus on learning and improving foundational exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and lunges. Workouts are challenging but safe, with no maximum lifting.

  • All fitness levels and athletic backgrounds are welcome.

Youth Boxing (Ages 12+)

Thursdays Sep 24-Dec 10, 2026 5:15- 6:15pm

  • A safe, coach-guided program that introduces youth to boxing fundamentals while building confidence, fitness, discipline, and focus. Participants will learn proper stance, footwork, punches, defensive skills, and combinations through technical drills, heavy bag work, and partner mitt work.

  • This is a non-contact program with no sparring. Classes emphasize proper technique, controlled movement, and steady skill development in a fun, supportive environment. No previous boxing experience is required.​

*Please note, this 12-week program adheres to a no-cancellation, no-make-up (no credit/refund) policy to ensure a consistent and enriching experience for all participants.

What age groups do you offer programs for?

We offer programs for ages 7–10, 11–13, and teens 12+ for strength & conditioning.

Is it safe for kids to lift weights?

Yes. Our strength and conditioning programs focus on proper form, technique, and movement fundamentals — not heavy lifting or max weights.

How are the classes structured?​

Classes are coach-led with a mix of skill development, fitness, and age-appropriate activities.

What if my child misses a class?​

There are no blackout or make up times

Where are you located?

We are located in Toronto’s Korea TownAnnex, near Bathurst Station.

Does my child need experience?

No. Our programs are beginner-friendly and designed to teach skills from the ground up.

Will my child be sparring?​

No. Our focus is on technique, fitness, and controlled skill development.
